Booted

I know these shoes have been doing the rounds on the blogosphere whether you love a rip off or not I could never justify paying $1200 for a pair of shoes, that’s just me though... Hate me for it if you must! But then again the detailing on the Balenciaga boot is just amazing, I love the stud detailing on the bottom.

But I love the shoe god’s version of the Balenciaga Biker Boot... of course when I say the shoe god I mean Jeffrey Campbell, he calls his biker boot the Roscoe and I really want to add these shoes to my life! Although the black is sold out I’m crossing my fingers I can find them somewhere else.

Not really feeling the the Forrest green.. The rust isn't so bad but I have no idea how I would incorporate a rust coloured boot into my wardrobe... Besides I could wear these black beauties to work!

I have been wearing my grungy biker boots to death, I absolutely love them but now that it’s heating up my hot little feet can’t take it... I like the idea of the cut out It gives me an excuse to wear boots in summer without melting! I’d love to see some people wearing the Roscoe... Anybody got any links they can share?

Gemma for Gatsby

If you loved Gemma Ward in the Black Balloon I have some news after a long Hiatus Gemma is set to join the star studded cast of the highly anticipated film The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrman. The Great Gatsby is described as one of America’s greatest novels.

The story is almost world renown, but funnily enough the movie will be shot in Australia and there seems to be a strong impact of an Auzzie cast with Joel Edgerton who will play Tom Buchanan, a.k.a. the Great American Douchebag, while Isla Fisher will play Tom’s mistress Myrtle and then Gemma fits in, It’s not clear which part she will play but there are whispers on the web that she will be Catherine.

Gemma, first known as the ‘alien’ looking perth model ‘retired’ from modeling at a young age of 21, she was really just getting out there but she did this in order to pursue her acting career… it’s safe to say she is killing it compared to the other model/actors out there, I personally loved black balloon, she was also the mermaid queen in the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tides , again she played a great part so I can’t wait to check this film out!

Blonde Bomb!

Like Abbey Lee, international model Natalia Vodianova has gone blonde! Peroxide I might add, her full brows still shape her face beautifully, however I find they are no longer as "full" as they used to be.  this proves the stigma of having bold brows and blonde hair totally wrong! Like Abbey the platinum blonde against her porcelain skin is so striking... I'll always love a blonde especially when they take the leap into the bleach!

Speaking of which I really need to attack my roots and buy a new toner!

It's Been a While

As you can see Blonde Suburbia has been in a bit of a lull this month, not alot going on and I’m really sorry but my laptop just can’t take it anymore and I think my router is dead! But here’s to replacements which shall soon be on their way!
However today’s pick me up was a quick lunch with Bonnie, so much is going on for this gorgeous Perth Blogger a quick celebratory drink was in order... After all it’s not every day when you are flown to New York to cover New York Fashion Week along with 7 other bloggers from around the world!  I’m really proud of Bon and I can’t wait to see what happens for her and I can’t wait to see these amazing posts in New York! Bonnie secretly slipped into Pigeonhole before our lunch so we were short for time, AND she didn’t want photos! However she grabbed a few quick shots of my outfit before she dashed back to work, I’ll get you next time!

Status Anxiety

I've been using the same pleather clutch for just under six months now... The zip is becoming slightly more delicate and the silver is more rust now that I look at it more closely. However with the regular use I love how soft this clutch really is, but really it is in it's dying days...
So I'm looking for something new.
I came across Status Anxiety an Australian label that makes simple buttery soft wallets for men and women and in some of the most delicatable shades.

"Like the 60's – audrey women’s leather wallets are easy to love. with a sweet naivety this medium grain Italian calf leather wallet will keep your most prized safe with its 14 card slots (plus additional note-length space underneath) and lock away zipper zone. "

So there's Audrey... beautifully understated leather. I think I want a blue one, it almost looks like a washed out denim! They also have these cute coin purses called the Phoebe! Kinda perfect for all occasions, especially stashed in your bag with your bits & bobs.

It's a purse like your nanna used to have. Made just how a womens purse should be, with an abundance of cuteness and wide enough to slot your cards and even and iphone into either of the 2 spaces. coins and hair elastics one side, cards, notes and your frequent sippers card in the other. Buy one of these sweet womens purses online now or from any of our selected boutique stockists.

They also have a mens collection available too... So if your ever hunting for those flip wallets or a classy wallet for your man have a look at the Online Store

In the meantime you can check out Status Anxiety HERE

Exhibitionist

A day of relaxation is all the man and I required after a ridiculously crazy working week and only now is my man getting over the dreaded man flu... So a day out is what was on the agenda today considering we had to be out of the house for a home open anyway....
So we headed into the city! I didn’t check out the opening of General Pants yesterday and probably for good reason there was already a group of people waiting outside, once we were in the sales staff were everywhere, super friendly and I would be too if I got to work in a place like general pants! They kept on mentioning how yesterday was a mad house, I’m not surprised it’s the first General Pants Perth has had to offer the Murray St mall! The merchandising is awesome the whole shop layout and interiors are pretty impressive too, whether they are real plants or fake they are definitely onto something...
I thought about taking photos but there were other bloggers such as Bonnie Friday & The Velvet bow that were there for the launch! So check out the store next time you’re in Perth, I know I will be spending up a storm in just a few short weeks time!

We made our regular pit stop at Quality Comics... I’m starting to worry what the sales staff think of my boyfriend, He’s there every week!!
Finished up the arvo by heading down to the old powerhouse right near Coogee Beach, If your in Perth and you’ve never been there I suggest you make the drive... Its an abandoned power station but there is some amazing artwork, from skulls to Monster Inc characters... sure there is broken glass here there and everywhere but it’s fun to explore!

Yeojin Bae for Perth Fashion Festival

Perth Fashion Festival has confirmed one of Australia’s most coveted designers Yeojin Bae will showcase her Summer 11/12 Collection Premiere at PFF as the opening show at Hackett Hall on September the 22nd, This is great news for Perth and future Perth Fashion Festivals for the hope that other Australian designers based over east will want to show at PFF considering so many amazing Perth designers are hitting the runways at RAFW!

(Yeojin Bae)

Premiere will showcase Yeojins signature style – edgy elegance with razor sharp tailoring, The collection features necklines decorated with mesh fabric, sequined pieces that hug the body in an array of sleek, sultry silks.

Photo's from BWA - Yeojin Bae @ RAFW)
Yeojin Bae’s debut show was just earlier this year at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, The bloggers over east were in overload, the show was labelled as one of the “Best shows so far” her designs are not something that we see alot of in Australia.
Sharp tailoring, sift silks, rich colours, edgy elegance. Although her label has been up and running since 06, her first Runway show was here in Aus, Yeojin is one of those designers you definitely know has worked very hard to be where she is now.

At 15 she was the youngest student attending the Whitehouse Institute of Design, she dived straight into the world of design not long after that working as a senior designer for labels SABA & Charlie Brown, she also secured internships with Marc Jacobs & Anna Sui in New York (where dreams are made I hear) not long after that she launched her label, where American buyers took note her designs are now available at the most desired shopping destinations including Barneys New York, Matches in London & Harvey Nichols In Dubai.

With so much hype surrounding this determined designer I have a feeling this show will to be one of those shows you cannot miss!

Perth Fashion Festival 2011 Calendar Launch

So last Tuesday Perth Fashion Festival launched its 2011 event calendar and at invitation only event at 140 William, Perth’s new fashion hub... This year’s PFF is being fronted by home grown beauty and now world known Supermodel, Nicole Trunfio, among Trunfio 200 other guests attented the launch including designers Poppy Lissiman, Aurelio Costarella, Garth cook... The other ‘Fashion elite of Perth’ were treated to a sneak peak for what’s in store for this year’s PFF.

If you, like me weren’t there but want to know more, read on because this year at Perth Fashion Festival it is a year all about the firsts... Perth Fashion Festival has definitely raised the bar. Perth Fashion Festival launched 2011 with one of Perth’s most exclusive runway shows, I was so lucky to be able to attend ELLERY’s first debut show in Perth & PFF’s first of Seven designer runway shows...
Perth Fash Fest has also introduced 3 capsule shows to give young designers the opportunity to showcase their collections... These shows are always incredible one designer I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for is Little Gracie & Paper Skye... Both are in the first capsule, However I have heard alot of buzz about the label Zsadar on twitter of late which is in the third Capsule, also one of two menswear shows throughout the week... fellas pencil this one in.
PFF is all about home grown talent... Aurelio Costarella will showcase his collection on home soil for the first time at PFF... The show is invite only as its the VIP launch night of the festival, don’t let that deter you there are so many other amazing events, not to mention the media and hype that will be covering this show!
Now we can’t forget the big guns that PFF have bought along for show and tell! This year PFF will feature two national designers Yeojin Bae & Magdelena Velevska; Both with such beautiful design aesthetics of their own, both will be showcasing their collections separately at Fashion Paramount...
Popsicle makes a return again, Last year I attended the Popsicle VIP launch night at the Picca Bar in Northbridge, it was such a fantastic night! Popsicle displays a huge variety of home grown talent, Last year it featured some amazingly out there creations and this year they are doing it again. Popsicle will be popping up in 11 different locations so you can shop throughout the WHOLE week... Keep your eyes out for a favourite jewelery designer of mine Kashen Jewelery, her glass & leather pieces are truely something.
There’s one show/ event I’m particularly intrigued about... Bloggers on the Friday there is a special Bloggers Fashion Photography masterclass... Definitely sounding like something I would like to see, last yr the bloggers show didn’t run the way it was meant to... But its great to see they have added in this event!!
The PFF calendar includes over 40 free, ticketed and invitation only high fashion events... Get your best heels out, get your tickets organized because this week is going to blow your mind...
Keep your eyes peeled for the show closing this year’s Perth Fashion Festival...
