Face off

Having ridiculously sensitive skin sucks... Wear the wrong foundation and I can break out into a rash, I often find myself with stupendously dry skin, dehydrated you say? can't be I almost drink a swimming pool in water per day, Not enough sleep? Well that could be it but sleep is for the weak! Up until recently I was purchasing supermarket brand cleansers for my face, dont get me wrong these arent all bad, However my skin only really seemed to adapt to them well as a young teen.

I decided its time I invest in my face after all I am stuck with it forever, Having senstive skin I have to be careful what brands I use. Previously Clinique, La Mer have made it to my bathrrom cabinet but not for long before I broke out! Chanel was a dream, but it was also a gift... I'm afriad I don't have quite that much to invest on my face I also need to eat.

In the meantime Aesop has opened up in Myer on Murray St (right opposite work) so I found myself instantly drawn to the simple packaging, The different bottle shapes and displays. Im a very visual person and this just screamed to me, But now I assume I have consumer written all over my forehead. I left with so many free samples and my bank account was $100 lighter...

Oodles of samples!

My first trip I picked up the purifying facial cream cleanser, this is non foaming so it wont dry out your skin, its creamy enough to gently remove away makeup too which is a plus for me. It leaves my skin feeling super soft. The lavender stem is super calming too.

I also picked up the camellia nut facial hydrating cream I originally picked it up because my skin was in agony that day it was so dry. The sales assistant advised that it would be soothing and would work instantly, this cream is thick but not too thick you can use it for both day and night and it smells so good!

The only downside to the cream cleanser is that it feels like I'm not getting deep into my skin but over cleansing will dry your skin out too apparently, so I grabbed this exfoliant... It's super grainy and thick my skin is left polished and I only really need to use it twice a week! I've used the Primrose cleasing masque because it contains vitamin E it leaves the skin moiturised but you still get a deep clean!

Finally I picked this up with the exfoliant... excellent consistency, non greasy and super refreshing this is perfect fo well eveything. Its so moisturising, my family has a history of psoriasis Im trying to avoid that all costs, but this is perfect for inside my bag too!

Check out what else is available at Aesop and see what you think... Im usually always wearing foundation and this stuff has done some amazing things to my skin and I've been going bare face! The shock, the horror! haha!

  2. Yay for samples! If your still using studio sculpt my dear that would explain break out, its a very heavy foundation. Must give this brand a go, seems like a nice change up for beauty routine :)

  3. My skin sounds like yours - super sensitive! I've previously avoided Aesop because of their reliance on natural ingredients (which can be surprisingly harsh) but now I'm intrigued. The Body Balm alone sounds excellent.
