Textile Comforts...

Wishing I looked this relaxed and effortless when I throw on jeans and a knit... Maybe I do but I just feel like a slop, absolutely love this collection from a label I haven’t heard much of before, but thanks to the Le Fanciulle blog I have stumbled across Textile Elizabeth & James.
The knits have all the right features and the jeans look like they would fit like an absolute glove and like I was saying... I am on the hunt for more denim, Love the white pair if only I could keep an outfit like that clean!

Not sure how I feel about the Reeboks but hey the rest is great! You can view the rest of the collection here

The Face

This year’s face of Perth Fashion Festival isn’t a local girl; Nicole Pollard the blonde beauty originally from Brisbane now located in Sydney has been signed as this year’s face of the 2012 Perth Fashion Festival.

The seventeen year old stunner has shot campaigns for the likes of; Friend of Mine (see previous post) Zimmerman, General Pants, Lover, Jac & Jack, Tigerlily, Ginger & Smart not to mention DION LEE, Life with Bird, Scanlan & Theodore and many more. She also played a big part in this years MBFWA walking for most of the shows, definitely a face to watch!

Lover 'White Majik'

Zimmerman 'Resort 2012'
Dion Lee Fall/Winter 2012

General Pants A/W 2012

The blondie epitomizes cool and I can’t believe she is just seventeen at 6ft tall she will guarantee to turn heads at this year’s festival. Although PFF have broken the 13 year tradition I think this is a great move as it extends the longevity of the festival for many years to come, it’s something fresh and Nicole is a face recognized around the globe and hopefully this will be great for the festival.

No doubt we will still see all our regular Perth favourites saunter down the runway but what’s not to love about a fresh young new face to join the number one event on the Perth Fashion Calendar.

The creative campaign shoot has also been revealed Nicole will be styled by one of Australia’s most talented stylists, Michelle Janks. Some of the best established and up and coming talent Perth has to offer will be showcased with labels including; Ellery, Costarella, Morrison, Ae’lkemi, Ange Lang, Zhivago, Poppy Lissiman& amp; Reny Kestel Millinery.

Nicole Pollard & Michelle Janks

If that’s anything to go by we may just be seeing some of these designers’ collections at PFF.* I cannot wait to see these images, with Pierre Toussaint as the photographer, Brad Ngata of L’Oreal Professional styling hair & MAC’s senior Makeup artist Nicole Thompson as the MUA these images are sure to be exceptional!

Ladies Don't Lean On Lamposts

Loving the sneakpeak of Friend of Mines latest lookbook 'Ladies Don't Lean On Lamposts'. I've seen a few more of the pieces on a shop order so I cannot wait for the rest of the lookbook to be released in the meantime here is a snippet into this incredible looking collection!

So much leather... So much goodness. Loving it all.

Merridy...

Every second Thursday or there abouts Bonnie and I have been catching up fo breakky and we've teamed up a few times now for outfit posts too. its so much easier having a friend on board when those onlookers can't stop staring! It's good to have a laugh every now and then.

There were a few positives to this week, having nutella on toast with Bonnie was definitely one of them, the fact I got to wear my favourite knit as well was a bonus and on top of that these gorgeous Merridy Shades by AM Eyewear arrived in the post just the day before and I love them!

Jumper - Lee from General Pants Co, Jeans - Sass & Bide Skinny Boy's, Choker - Sportsgirl, Shoes - Jo & Maxx, Sunglasses - C/O Am eyewear & Bonel Pr.

This is my go to comfort outfit (I'm talking out in public here), these are actually my only pair of jeans and they arent even jeans, I should probably look into that and maybe invest in a second pair perhaps?

Also a special thanks to Bonel Pr for sending me these great shades, I am absolutely smitten and I could not make up my mind but I decided on the Merridy pair I really love that the shape is a little different to your typical wayfarer shades!

The Night

Below is Complex Geometries latest A/W collection ‘The Night’ I recently received this beauty straight into my inbox and I have to say I’m very impressed. I’ve always loved the silk & chiffon pieces from CG but I haven’t had a huge interest in the jersey pieces I know some of them may be tencel or wool but I’m just not drawn to Jersey.
I’m not too sure what the majority of the winter collection is made of but I’m sure there may be some jersey throughout the collection but I’m sold on this collection it’s beautiful! My favourite pieces of the collection would easily have the be the shirt/dress in the first photo, the dress in the second last photo and I cannot get enough of both jackets in photo 2 & 9. I actually think the bomber in the last photo is my favourite piece in the entire collection but maybe that’s because my fingers are numb as I type this. But check out the collection I’m sure you’ll agree.
Plus how AMAZING are the shoes a collaboration with LD Tuttle which they have done in previous collections!

Face off

Having ridiculously sensitive skin sucks... Wear the wrong foundation and I can break out into a rash, I often find myself with stupendously dry skin, dehydrated you say? can't be I almost drink a swimming pool in water per day, Not enough sleep? Well that could be it but sleep is for the weak! Up until recently I was purchasing supermarket brand cleansers for my face, dont get me wrong these arent all bad, However my skin only really seemed to adapt to them well as a young teen.

I decided its time I invest in my face after all I am stuck with it forever, Having senstive skin I have to be careful what brands I use. Previously Clinique, La Mer have made it to my bathrrom cabinet but not for long before I broke out! Chanel was a dream, but it was also a gift... I'm afriad I don't have quite that much to invest on my face I also need to eat.

In the meantime Aesop has opened up in Myer on Murray St (right opposite work) so I found myself instantly drawn to the simple packaging, The different bottle shapes and displays. Im a very visual person and this just screamed to me, But now I assume I have consumer written all over my forehead. I left with so many free samples and my bank account was $100 lighter...

Oodles of samples!

My first trip I picked up the purifying facial cream cleanser, this is non foaming so it wont dry out your skin, its creamy enough to gently remove away makeup too which is a plus for me. It leaves my skin feeling super soft. The lavender stem is super calming too.

I also picked up the camellia nut facial hydrating cream I originally picked it up because my skin was in agony that day it was so dry. The sales assistant advised that it would be soothing and would work instantly, this cream is thick but not too thick you can use it for both day and night and it smells so good!

The only downside to the cream cleanser is that it feels like I'm not getting deep into my skin but over cleansing will dry your skin out too apparently, so I grabbed this exfoliant... It's super grainy and thick my skin is left polished and I only really need to use it twice a week! I've used the Primrose cleasing masque because it contains vitamin E it leaves the skin moiturised but you still get a deep clean!

Finally I picked this up with the exfoliant... excellent consistency, non greasy and super refreshing this is perfect fo well eveything. Its so moisturising, my family has a history of psoriasis Im trying to avoid that all costs, but this is perfect for inside my bag too!

Check out what else is available at Aesop and see what you think... Im usually always wearing foundation and this stuff has done some amazing things to my skin and I've been going bare face! The shock, the horror! haha!

Designer Dreams

The selection of pieces below will most likely never make it to my wardrobe unless I win the lotto or if I decided to stop eating entirely but the following pieces from  Michael Lo Sordo & Josh Goot will haunt my dreams these pieces are currently up for pre-order from Moda Operandi but they won’t be for long so I’m in need of opinions... Read on and admire some of the beautiful detail that goes into the prints by Michael Lo Sordo.

This leather shift looks incredible on the runway... The dress with the same print with the leather sleever blazer also looked incredible, check out more shots from the runway here

While I absolutely adore the white print pencil skirt that’s been seen on the gorgeous Nicole of Gary Pepper Vintage during MBFWA however I find the black print pencil skirt would fit perfectly into my wardrobe. I love a pop of colour every now and then and this insect inspired print my Michael is absolutely incredible. now to make sure there are enough pennies in the piggy bank.

I loved what Josh Goot did with his latest collection the rose print is really something, there has been an influx of floral everywhere and this is the floral trend I would dive right into. Dare to dream? Why not... The skirt was way out of my range and realistically im terrible with white but it is just such a gorgeous print! Artwork!

Any pieces haunting your dreams from the above pieces or anything else that stood out to you from these collections? And now to smash my piggy black print pencil skirt....
