WA Designer Lineup 2012

I've said this a few times already but along with the Designer Capsules the WA designer collections is another one of my favourite events on the Perth Fashion Festival calendar and this year there are some seriously incredible designers in the lineup… Some of the designers are new to this year’s PFF but some of them have already left a huge impression after last year’s debut to PFF ( Shelly Tindale I’m talking about you here) This year’s designers include;

Ange Lang was this year’s winner of the ‘Designer Of Tomorrow’ award at the WA fashion award which were held earlier this year… There is no doubt that her show will be breath taking. Her designs have always been so carefully constructed and plays homage to classic design.

Ange Lang

Tindale designs are an absolute favourite of mine, I was crossing my fingers hoping that Tindale would be showing at Perth Fashion Festival again, after last years incredible dark and wonderful show I can’t wait to see what Shelly has in-store for Perth, Tindale only releases one collection per years, this is what makes her designs more conceptual, more unique rather than trend focused, but her work is definitely like art!. Their collection Forgotten Beauty is inspired by the architectural elements of historical buildings and the impact of time and ageing. I cannot WAIT for this one.

Jewellery designer Alushia Sanchia draws inspiration from her nomadic upbringing and is largely influenced by her love of animal totems, tribes, gypsies, love, mother earth, music and the sun.

N&H is a fresh new WA label by designer Robin Alexander. The debut collection features stunning printed summer dresses inspired by hot summer nights.

Monster Alphabets is a label that has already been noticed by Melbourne buyers with her pieces already available in certain stores, her minimalism aesthetics are definitely appealing, Distinctive silhouettes is what best defines Sarah Wantanbe’s designs… I have a felling this is going to be another favourite after I see her show!

Catini Designs debuted on the WA Designer Collections runway during PFF 2011 with their very first Spring/Summer collection Precipice, launching the label into the Australian fashion industry with it’s elegantly unique pieces.

Natalie Donovan, the designer behind Wild Horses created a label that aims to capture the simplicity of simple beauty and vintage chic, her label was launched earlier this year, So it will be great to see her effortlessly chic designs on the runway… Recently Perth blogger Sassenfras interviewed Natalie read more about it here

Wild Horses

Since showing at Student Runway during PFF 2010, Peppermint Milk has continued to produce perfectly tailored garments reminiscent of times gone by and feminine traditions lost... These pieces remind me of milkshakes the colours are so soft and feminine, I'm looking forward to what Peppermint Milk comes up with next!

After showcasing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2012 as part of the ‘New Generation’ show, designer Ebony Harding and her label Little Gracie will make a return to PFF with the wonderfully feminine, floaty, whimsical and girly designs we have come to love, Also news just in Little Gracie will be releasing a select few dresses in my favourite shade of all... BLACK! however these will only be available online, but I do wonder whether we will see these on the runway? Her show was absolutely incredible last year I still remember those delicious cupcakes!

Anna Excell creates beautiful and wearable garments with a strong emphasis on colour; her garments are hand dyed in unique shades, exclusive to the label.

Martini & Coz create accessories for individuals who are inspired by the love and timelessness of old glamour, They've been around since 2008 it's great to watch there collections transform over each season!

Since establishing the label with one off dresses made from vintage fabric, On A Whim has become known for their vintage styling and fabrics.

Betty Tran seeks to empower women through fashion, creating classic pieces with great attention to detail being the signature of the label, She recently showed her collection at PFW I wasn't able to attend so it will be great to attend!

What a lineup!!! Counting down the days....
86 to be exact....

Sewellery at 140

So it’s no secret I have a slight obsession with skulls, I don’t know what it is but I have always enjoyed a touch of grunge in my life when it comes to dressing and interiors for that matter. A few years ago it was hard to come across gorgeous skull pieces but now you don’t know where to start looking because there are so many wonderful variations.

One variation happens to be in the form of jewellery, Skulls and crosses not to mention a selection of mixed metals Perth jewellery label Sewellery is a stand out when it comes to statement pieces! You’ve probably seen her pieces on the Runway for Ae’lkemi, The Perth Fashion Festival launch, and in the Hatch boutique in Carillon City…

Now the designer Teagan Sewell is opening up her own studio & pop up shop at Perth’s fashion hub 140 William, where she’ll join retailers Pigeonhole, Zara Bryson, Father, Miss Brown Vintage and more… This is quickly becoming the easiest spot to shop!

The store opens next week and Teagan will be working away in store on Thursday’s & Fridays, Teagan also creates customized pieces… So now I know exactly what I’ll be telling the beau I’d like for my birthday… The ultimate skull piece to add to my collection!

Be sure to check out the store as soon as you can!

I was lucky enough to wear a piece for the day just yesterday, I wish I could have taken it home with me!

Wishful Thinking

Lusting after so many beautiful things right now, my bank balance is rather dull however it’s my birthday in less than 2 weeks and after all I am turning 21 so I thought I should lay it all out for the world to see… Just some of the beautiful things that I will be wishing for when I blow out those candles!

Maurie & Eve Jagger Sleeveless Drape Dress - I've tried this beauty on and it fits like a dream, classy and the draping makes it that little more dressier then your everyday LBD.

Aje Catara Cut Out Skirt - Aje have released this style in a number of different coloured sequin finishes, both this one and the Ivory are my favourite of the two, the cut out detailing makes it extra special... Perfect for all year round

Maurie & Eve Boyd Mini Dress - I first saw this beauty on Opinion Slave, it's absolutely gorgeous on and the navy is a nice alternative to black for once! also loving the rose gold detailing on the dress.

Viktoria + Woods Hendrix Leather Jacket - I desperately need a real leather jacket this winter, I need to invest in superior quality and after seeing this on the gorgeous Kassy of Render Sublime, I would love a Hendrix jacket myself!

Dion Lee Silk Slash Bra - I've always wanted one of these from Dion Lee perfect to go underneath that sheer shirt or that loose fitting dress, for me black is versatile enough for my wardrobe, not too sure how I would work in the emerald version of it!

Aje Evangeline Dress - The ultimate birthday girl dress, it's no secret I love Aje and their sequin designs are definitely my favourite, these colours are perfect for winter and the matte finish on the sequins doesn't make it too over the top... Plus long sleeves for winter, just another plus!

Tony Bianco Kiri - Now we all know and love the Karissa heel seen worn by dozen of bloggers, I'm loving the new take on the single strap heel, this is Kiri and it comes in a variety of finishes I'm personally loving the black suede finish.

Maurie & Eve Bosworth Tank - This simple silk tee can be dressed up or down, I would love to see this with the Catara skirt and the Kiri heels, I could always grunge it up with the Hendrix Jacket and my biker boots too!

Perhaps I should start saving for this 'Winter Capsule' that I am loving so much!

A Costarella Concept...

The Mr Costarella....

So as of 10AM tomorrow a new Perth boutique will open, showcasing one of Perth’s most luxurious labels, Aurelio Costarella is easily one of Perth’s favourite designers for that big event, or whether you want something indulgent for that special occasion. Ray’s approach to couture design is really something, Last year he opened the 2011 Perth Fashion Festival at The C Restaurant, the show was impeccable and the collection? Something magical with the use of feathers, silk, beautiful beading and Swarovski crystal embellishments it’s hard to not want a princess dress from this incredible designer!
Here's a look at the Concept store just a few hours ago, Photo from Costarella's instagram!

During MBFWA Ray’s SS12/13 collection made its debut down the runway with such beautiful waistlines, 1920’s inspired silhouettes, feathered heels and sleeves and embellished corsets and with incredible pom-pom headdresses that took his team months to hand sew each creation, easily one of my favourite features of his show!  I wonder if we will be seeing these incredible headdresses at his boutique. So elated that the Perth designer is actually opening a store in Perth and not over east… Would love to get in to the store tomorrow but Tuesday is one busy day for me so I’ll definitely have to pop by in the nearby future… After all I am still on the hunt for a gorgeous 21st dress… This is less than 3 weeks away ARGH!

The Nars Orgasm Cult...

When I was 16 I moved out of home, lets just say the next couple of months were a crazy ride for me but all the same I truly value the experience I got out of it, and there is no looking back!
When I first moved out I lived with my two cousins who just happen to be label and makeup obsessed for me this was a dream come true... There bathroom was loaded with all of the best of the best... MAC, Nars, Yves Saint Laurent, Philosophy skin care, Georgio Armani and more... but even five years ago my cousin Brookes staple was the Orgasm blush stick by Nars. She said it was the best beauty buy ever; use it for your cheeks, eyes or lips for a pretty flushed glowing look. This was easily my favourite beauty staple up until it ran out about a month ago!
Now Nars have done what we have all been waiting for... Nars have introduced the Orgasm collection the peachy golden shade can now be found in an Illuminator, blush, nail varnish, the all in one stick and gloss... they’ve also released one hell of a steamy video in celebration of this cult shade!

Wang Resort...

What I wouldn't do for raw industrial concrete walls like this in my own home, or a studio for that matter, Here is Alexander Wang's resort collection, talk about impeccable! I absolutely love all these lust worthy leather pieces. I love it all!

Dion does it again and again..

I'm actually shocked at myself for not blogging this incredible lookbook sooner. Now I'm sure all of you have seen pops of this collection floating around on the blogosphere or on instagram for that matter... But here it is again, safe and sound on the pages of my blog where I too can always marvel at Dion Lee's incredible masterpieces! Absolutely loving the use of Neoprene and the weaving techinique he has used. I would seriously love to have some of this collection in my life.
